HMM I couldn't remember any childhood 2d crushes.. (my memory... dying..) So this is a more recent crush from college days. Kakashi! So mysterious, why is only his one eye revealed to the world?! What is under that mask?! And that's what made him so attractive--mysteryyyyyyy...
Not necessarily my 2D crush, but closest I could think of for now. I killed the picture - sorry, did it on one try. His face is messed up. Quality of my pictures is declining!
I decided to do an early teenagerhood 2d crush. Ok, maybe Spidey is scrawny but he's funny and he can climb walls. Those are official trump cards.
Also, this is my first official iPad drawing. Making this felt like I was finger painting in kindergarten again.
I have too many 2D crushes and couldn't choose (how sad), so I decided to go with these two since they exist in the same universe: Death and Lucifer Morningstar from Sandman (and various spin-offs). I had a poster of Death in my room during college and I used to write "I ♥ Lucifer Morningstar" inside the front cover of all my class notebooks. Lucifer, you are supposed to be way taller in the picture -- my bad.
This took for-freakin'-ever! But I had so much fun! Great challenge, Eve.
Left to right:
1) Linda from Double Dragon. I always felt bad about having to beat up a girl in this game. I would always try to find a less violent way of killing Lindas, or avoid killing them altogether. This led to me taking lots of damage while they attacked me! No fair. Screw Marion, Billy and Jimmy should run away with Linda! 2) Etna from Disgaea. I love bad girls, and Etna is a demon... literally! I like how she is always trying to kill Laharl. I also enjoyed her cute, peppy, scary Japanese voice. 3) Samus from Metroid. While Metroid got the 3D treatment, I still think of it as one of the best 2D platformers. At the end of the game, depending on how well you did, Samus (the heroine) would take her helmet off, or remove her armor entirely to reveal a swimsuit! Well, I kind of suck at video games so the best I ever got is helmetless, but I sure tried to see that bikini! 4) Amy Wong from Futurama. I also love ditsy girls, and Amy is the ditsiest of them all. Add in an exposed midriff and I can't say no. 5) Elisa from Gargoyles. The only character who was a big enough crush to deserve a repeat appearance. Elisa is tough, sexy, and smart in tight fitting jeans. What is there not to adore?
